Appearance and theme
The Appearance section at the top of Settings (/settings) controls how the CRM renders on this browser only. Three buttons appear in a row: Light, Dark, and System. Light uses a bright palette suited to well-lit offices and screen recordings. Dark reduces glare for long sessions and evening work. System follows your operating system preference—when macOS or Windows switches to dark mode, the CRM switches with it without another click. This preference is stored locally per device; teammates can each choose their own theme. Appearance does not change workspace branding—that is controlled separately under Whitelabel branding via Enable Whitelist CRM and logo uploads. Training materials should mention both controls so new hires do not confuse personal theme with client logo colors in the header.

Who can do this
Every signed-in user.
Before you begin
- You can open Settings from the sidebar (
/settings) - You understand this is per-browser, not a workspace-wide policy
- For client-facing branding, plan Whitelabel work after personal comfort settings
What you'll accomplish
- The interface immediately reflects Light, Dark, or System
- System tracks OS dark-mode changes automatically
- You can switch themes during demos without affecting other users
Step-by-step procedure
- Open Settings from the sidebar. The page title area shows Appearance as the first section.
- Read the helper text: Choose how the CRM looks on this device. System follows your OS setting.
- Select Light if you want a bright UI at all times.
- Select Dark for a dark sidebar, cards, and backgrounds regardless of OS setting.
- Select System to mirror macOS/Windows appearance automatically.
- Confirm the active button shows a highlighted border and primary tint—only one theme is selected at a time.
- Navigate to Contacts or Inbox and verify cards, tables, and modals match the chosen theme.
- If using System, toggle your OS dark mode once and confirm the CRM updates without a full reload.
- For screen recordings, set Light before starting; for late-night admin work, Dark is often easier on the eyes.
- Remember: customer logo colors in the header come from Whitelabel, not from Appearance.
Verify your work
- UI labels match product
- Primary action completes without error
- Data persists after refresh
Tips
Use workspace search if you cannot find a sidebar item—some modules are role-gated.
