Deals overview

Deals (/deals) track revenue opportunities through your sales pipeline. Each deal links to a primary contact, has a stage and value, and rolls up to Book of Business and Reports.

Who can do this

Users with Deals view/create permission. Manage Stages is typically Admin/Manager.

Before you begin

What you'll accomplish

  • Deals visible on Kanban board by stage
  • New opportunities created with value and close date
  • Closed won/lost deals for forecasting

Open the Deals board

  1. Sidebar → CRMDeals (/deals).
  2. Board columns = workspace stages (sorted by stage order from API).

Create a deal

  1. Select Add Deal.
  2. Modal title: Create New Deal
    Subtitle: Keep your pipeline updated with clean, complete deal details.

Custom fields and tags

  • Custom fields — workspace deal fields from admin setup
  • Tags — placeholder Add a tag..., button Add
  1. Select Create Deal (edit mode: Update Deal).

Verify: Card appears in correct column; contact detail Deals tab lists the deal.


Move deals across stages

  1. Drag deal card to new column, or open deal and change Stage.
  2. Update Probability if your process ties it to stage.
  3. When closed, move to won/lost stage (per your Manage Stages config).

  1. Select Manage Stages.
  2. Per stage fields:

Stage names are workspace-specific—not fixed enums. Document your pipeline in onboarding materials.

Verify your work

  • Board shows deals under correct Stage
  • Create New Deal required fields validated (* markers)
  • Book of Business reflects new pipeline value
  • Contact record Deals tab links back to board

Require Expected close date on every deal—empty dates break forecast reports.

Use Tags for campaign attribution (webinar-q1) without extra custom fields.

Summarize deal before manager 1:1s—Copilot pulls activity from linked contact.
