Customize workspace dashboards
Workspace dashboards (/workspace-grid-dashboards) let Admins build configurable grid layouts beyond the default analytics home. Each dashboard is a drag-and-drop canvas of widgets fed by live CRM, marketing, and work data.

Who can do this
Users with dashboard edit permission—usually Owner or Admin. Members consume assigned dashboards read-only.
Before you begin
- KPIs the leadership team wants on one screen
- Widget catalog reviewed so you know which modules supply data
- Decision on who lands on the custom dashboard vs default
/dashboard
What you'll accomplish
- Custom dashboard saved with layout and widget set
- Team can open the dashboard URL or receive it as a landing assignment
- Widgets show live data without configuration errors
Step-by-step procedure
Open workspace dashboards admin
- Settings → Dashboards card → Workspace dashboards (
/workspace-grid-dashboards). - Alternatively navigate directly if you have the URL bookmarked.
- The list page shows existing dashboards with edit and preview actions.
- Each row links to
/workspace-grid-dashboards/:dashboardIdfor the grid builder canvas.
Create or edit a dashboard
- Select Create dashboard or open an existing row (
/workspace-grid-dashboards/:dashboardId). - Enter a dashboard name and optional description visible to assignees.
- The grid builder opens with empty cells and a widget catalog panel.
- Duplicate an existing dashboard when rolling out a variation for another department—faster than rebuilding widgets from scratch.
Add widgets
- Browse the catalog grouped by module (CRM, Marketing, Work, Performance, etc.).
- Drag a widget onto the grid or select Add on the catalog card.
- Configure widget-specific filters—common options include date range, owner, pipeline, or Smart List.
- Resize tiles using grid handles; wider tiles suit charts, narrow tiles suit KPI counts.
- CRM widgets often respect the same metrics you see on Book of Business—avoid duplicating identical pipeline tiles unless audiences differ.
Arrange and save layout
- Align critical KPIs in the top row for executive landing views.
- Place operational queues (tasks, Inbox, Reminders Overdue counts) on row two for reps.
- Select Save—layout persists immediately for all assignees.
- Preview as a Member would see it using role simulation or a test account.
- Document the dashboard URL in your internal wiki so reps know which grid replaces the default
/dashboardhome.
Assign as landing (optional)
- Work with your Admin team to set the custom dashboard as default home for a role group when your deployment supports assignment.
- Share the direct link
/workspace-grid-dashboards/:dashboardIdin onboarding docs. - Pair with Navigate the app so users know how to return to classic modules from the sidebar.
Verify your work
- Layout persists after refresh and re-login
- Each widget loads data or shows a clear empty state—not a perpetual spinner
- Saved dashboard appears on the workspace dashboards list with correct name
- Member test account sees read-only view without edit chrome
Tips
tip
Build one executive dashboard and one rep dashboard instead of a single overcrowded grid.
Troubleshooting
| Widget error | Source module disabled—enable in Workspace modules | | Cannot save | Missing dashboard edit permission | | Blank widget | Filters too narrow—widen date range | | Duplicate metrics | Remove overlapping widgets that query the same KPI |
