Social setup and accounts
Setup (/social/setup) and Integrations (/social/integrations/accounts) onboard your workspace for Social. The wizard captures team profile (solo vs agency), channel focus, approval workflow, and connected networks (Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, YouTube, Google Business, Threads). Finish here before spending time in Ideate or Composer.

Who can do this
Social admins.
Before you begin
- Admin access to each social business account
- Brand guidelines (voice, hashtags, disclaimers)
- Optional: Social media settings for defaults
What you'll accomplish
- Social profile saved
- Primary networks OAuth-connected
- First Plan ready in
/social/plan/planning
Step-by-step procedure
Launch Setup
- Sidebar → Social → Setup (
/social/setup). - Choose profile: Solo creator, Small business owner, Part of a company marketing team, Freelancer / consultant, Marketing agency, Non-profit organization, or Other.
- Pick priority channels (e.g. Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn).
- Set mode simple vs advanced (controls Ideate worksheet vs list).
- Save—session persists if you leave mid-wizard.
Connect accounts
- Open Integrations (
/social/integrations/accounts). - Connect each network (Meta family connects once for IG/FB/Threads).
- Confirm pages/profiles selected in OAuth screens.
- Return to Overview—connected badges should show green.
Brand & governance
- Document approval workflow (copy/creative) if team size >1.
- Align hashtag library under Publish → Hashtags.
- Link billing tags if using Impact → Spending.
After setup
- Create first entry in Plans.
- Run Social Ideate and Studio for first asset.
- Schedule via Publish social content.
Extended guidance
Re-run Setup when adding a new brand line—profile settings drive Ideate worksheet columns. OAuth tokens expire quietly; calendar a monthly Integrations health check. Agency profiles should enable approval workflows early to prevent unauthorized Composer publishes.
Practice scenarios
Reconnect one network in Integrations, publish a test Draft, schedule 24h out, confirm on Scheduled Posts.
Sandbox validation
Repeat the procedure in a test workspace or with two internal colleagues before customer-facing launches. Document who approved each step (marketing, legal, ops). Screenshot Verify your work outcomes for audit trails. When something fails, capture the URL, role, timestamp, and exact UI label clicked—Support resolves tickets faster with that context. Re-read See also links after your first successful run; adjacent topics often cover edge cases you have not hit yet.
Team rollout checklist
Assign a single owner for this workflow per workspace. Schedule a 30-minute handoff training with screen share. Add the See also links to your internal Notion or wiki. Re-verify after each major product release (labels move occasionally). Pair junior staff with a senior reviewer for the first live execution. Log lessons learned in your team retro—especially permission surprises and integration timeouts.
Keep learning
Bookmark this page and the Product module map. After major releases, re-walk Step-by-step procedure—UI labels move occasionally. Share feedback with your workspace Admin so Help stays aligned with how your team actually works.
Verify your work
- OAuth success toast; account listed in Integrations
- Overview shows connected networks
- Test draft saves in Drafts without error
Tips
Reconnect networks promptly when tokens expire—Failed Publishes often means auth drift, not bad copy.
Marketing teams should enable worksheet Ideate (default_ideate_view) during Setup for campaign-scale briefs.
Troubleshooting
| OAuth loop | Clear cookies; use admin account | | Missing page in Meta picker | Grant page admin in Business Manager | | Setup wizard resets | Complete in one session; avoid private browsing | | Wrong timezone in calendar | Set workspace timezone in Settings |
